About Me
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, I had the incredible opportunity to experience various cultures, due to my father’s career as a professional basketball player. While living in different countries including Italy, Spain, Turkey, and various parts of the United States, I was able to explore new cultures, as well as learn from diverse communities and individuals from different walks of life. My upbringing has profoundly shaped my journey, defining who I am today and fueling my aspirations for the future.

One particular memory that stands out to me was the privilege of witnessing Puerto Rican history.

In 2004, I traveled to Athens, Greece, to root for my dad, playing for the Puerto Rican basketball team in the Olympics. Team Puerto Rico had their opening game against Team USA. This team included players like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Allen Iverson. Against all odds, Puerto Rico unexpectedly took down this dream team by 19 points.

In the fourth quarter of that game, my father dunked between Tim Duncan and Carmelo Anthony. I was only four then, so I don't remember this iconic play, though my mom says I was cheering as loud as I could. But I do remember the photo of him that circulated in newspapers worldwide.

Looking back at that moment made me realize the power and impact that the media has when it comes to storytelling—the global impact of this moment fueled my desire to become a storyteller.
